Learning objectives
  • Knowledge of methods to validate medical image analysis algorithms.
  • Knowledge of the concepts of advanced image registration methods and comprehension of their application to clinical problems.
  • Knowledge of machine and deep learning techniques and understanding how to apply those to a practical problem
Content
  • Validation: Methods for qualitative and quantitative validation of medical image analysis methods such as registration, segmentation and quantification. Strong emphasis on the 3D imaging modalities Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Image Registration: Methods for non-rigid reigstration of medical images and the challenges in the application hereof.

Dit vak behandelt een aantal state-of-the-art technieken en onderwerpen in medische beeldanalyse. Het is een specialisatiecursus voor studenten met een algemene kennis van medische beeldanalyse, die zich willen verdiepen in een aantal uitdagende onderwerpen en de toepassing hiervan in de klinische praktijk. Specifieke onderwerpen zijn diffusie-gewogen MRI, visualisatiedeep learning, validatie en beeldregistratie.
Short promotional description of the course
This course covers a number of state-of-the-art techniques and topics in medical image analysis. It is a specialization course for those with a general understanding of medical image analysis looking to deepen their knowledge. Specific topics are diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging, visualizationdeep learning, validation and image registration.
