Part A: Surroundings
1) The university as institution, history, ..
2) Mentor versus supervisor versus student. What are the characteristics of each role. What to expect from each other.
Assignment: write an essay.
Part B: How to do a good literature study
Assignment: Perform a literature study and write an abstract of 2 A4 (excl references and pictures).

Part C: article writing and article reviewing
Assignment: write a review report of maximum 1 A4.

Part D: Ethics and scientific integrity
Assigment: read the book as preparation on the lecture.
Part E: Scientific presentation and discussion
Assignment: give a presentation.
Part F: Funding system, and how to write a successful research proposal
Assignment: Write a jury report on an existing research proposal.

Part G: Exam: integration of all of the knowledge obtained
Assignment: write a research proposal on a topic you choose yourself. A.o. a literature study needs to be done. Also give suggestions for preferred referees within this university. The proposal will be presented to all participants and defended for a jury.
