Extend knowledge of numerical techniques to fluid-structure interaction.
Content
An important factor in the functioning of our cardiovascular system is the interaction between the fluid (blood) and elastic media like vessel walls and (heart) valves. In this course the necessary numerical tools to analyze these so-called fluid-structure interaction problems will be explained and the strengths/limitations of these methods will be discussed.
